Doehler at ANUGA 2011: Smart Category Evolution

"Smart Category Evolution" was the main fair motto for the broad spectrum of innovative products and product applications that Doehler presented at the ANUGA. As a global provider of technology-based natural ingredients and ingredient systems, Doehler presented about 100 newly developed product applications in Cologne. For Doehler, Smart Category Evolution does not only mean constantly developing own products and technologies – but this guiding principle also describes the goal of further optimising the products in cooperation with the customer, while also developing new market potential through innovation.

A broad product portfolio for the food and beverage industry
Doehler possesses comprehensive knowledge in raw materials, product formulations and applications. A broad spectrum of state-of-the-art technologies in the R&D centres and across 19 production facilities worldwide form the basis of a unique product portfolio, ranging from flavours and emulsions, fruit and vegetable ingredients, beverage and dairy bases, fermented non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage bases to modern stevia-based sweeteners. The compounds, blends, fruit preparations and emulsions are the  basis for successful food and beverage applications and are always safe and easy to use.

Stevia and the new Doehler flavour technology SIT are the basis for sugar reduction
Stevia offers huge potential for innovations in the EU from November 2011 on. Doehler and PureCircle contribute their comprehensive supply chain, formulation and application expertise to a global strategic partnership. The Sweetness Improving Technology (SIT) developed by Doehler significantly improves the characteristic flavour profile of stevia and offers a completely new flavour similar to sugar. At the ANUGA, Doehler presented beverage and dairy applications that satisfy the mega trend for health and nutrition with a 30 % calorie reduction.

Expertise in flavours and emulsions
Thanks to vertical integration with its own fruit processing facilities and access to the best raw materials, the DoehlerGroup possesses extraordinary expertise in flavours. The company produces high-quality flavour extracts and natural flavours at multiple sites. The range of flavours spans from new apple flavours and exotic fruit flavours, white and brown flavours to beer, malt and cocktail flavours. In addition, Doehler offers a wide range of flavour, colour and cloud emulsions.

New fruit and vegetable ingredients
In addition to the classic fruit juice and fruit juice concentrates, Doehler presented an interesting product portfolio featuring new fruits at the ANUGA.

Malt extracts and malt compounds – for a new product category with potential
With gently processed, fine filtered and concentrated malt extracts and compounds, Doehler offers simple and safe solutions for a promising category of natural beverages to classic soft drink manufacturers.

Innovative product applications for the food and beverage industry
Doehler presented about 100 new product applications at ANUGA. The range of new developments comprises all relevant non-alcoholic beverage categories; from water plus to still drinks and juice drinks, fruit splashes, carbonated soft drinks, energy drinks, to tea drinks and beverages based on cereals and malt. These innovative products optimally support Doehler’s customers in advancing the category evolution of their product portfolio.

Fermentation has been used around the globe for a long time. Doehler presented applications like Russian kvass, Asian kombucha and Turkish hardalyie at the ANUGA.

Together with Plantextrakt, Döhler now offers a portfolio of freshly-brewed Strong Tea Infusions. The concepts based on Strong Tea Infusions range from “Brewed Iced Teas” and “Premium Iced Teas” to “True Teas” – the purest form of tea indulgence.

Doehler has also developed trendsetting products for the dairy industry: In Cologne Doehler presented drinking yoghurts and milk mixes with fruit pieces and stevia as a natural sweetener. Technologically matured fruit purees for yoghurts and desserts with multiple layers were some of the innovations to be seen at the Doehler stand.
